Why Rebecca is the right choice for Ward 4

June 15, 2022

Rebecca and her family are proud Metis residents of West Broadway. Rebecca is a high school teacher and her commitment to education and educational governance extends to her studies toward her Master's degree in Educational Administration and her election to the Executive of the Pembina Trails Teachers Association. Rebecca is a parent of three young children who attend school in Winnipeg School Division. She is a strong advocate for teacher and student safety, holistic education practices, and issues of diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation. Rebecca believes academic excellence is strengthened by community engagement. She is a proven collaborator and hard-working community volunteer with strong support in West Broadway, Wolseley, Armstrong Point, and Downtown.

In the role of Trustee, Rebecca will deliver on accountability and transparency of governance and decision-making. She will ensure Ward 4 resident voices are heard in the boardroom, and student needs and research-supported innovation guide our Division. Rebecca is a former employee of Winnipeg School Division and has a deep appreciation for its unique strengths and challenges, both as a parent and a teacher.
